Europeans often say when introducing themselves: "I wear several hats." And now I have a 🎩 in the International Social Security Association (ISSA). The ISSA-Construction Section has approved my candidacy for the position of Secretary General.
What this means for our professional community and for Ukraine:
1️. Construction means reconstruction. Promoting safety on construction sites is one of the core tasks of our section 🏗️.
2️. I will observe injury prevention systems worldwide and share best practices in Ukraine 🌍.
3️. I invite Ukrainian governmental and non-governmental organizations to join the association, participate in global conferences, and exchange experiences 💡.
Ukraine can and should become a platform for a new generation of safety solutions ⚠️. The risks are too high, and workers are becoming increasingly irreplaceable. There’s no better time for systemic changes in injury prevention in the country than now.
P.S. I feel a bit awkward about the title of "Secretary General" 😬, but in an organization with a 97-year history, historical names have their place. Let's get to work 👷♀️.
