Code of Conduct for Members of the European Society of Occupational Safety&Health

Intro

Only professionals with the technology to implement a risk-oriented approach become members of the European Society of Occupational Safety&Health (ESOSH).

Competence and impartiality in decision-making in their professional activities are important components of the professionalism of the members of the ESOSH. Each of the specialists of the ESOSH is responsible for the formation of respect and trust for the honorary title of member of the ESOSH.

The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to provide the ESOSH participants with ethical recommendations that meet the highest European standards and rules of conduct governing anti-corruption issues, conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

The Code defines the basic standards of behavior, but at the same time does not impose restrictions on the ability to carry out their professional and public activities.

We call on all members of the ESOSH to strive to ensure that honesty is at the heart of our actions, and that the principles of the Code are respected in carrying out our activities, which lead to the preservation of the highest value of human life and health.

Code of Conduct for Members of the ESOSH

Purpose of the Code of Conduct— provide ESOSH participants with criteria to be guided in the performance of their professional duties. It outlines the general principles of behavior that our community expects of its members. By adhering to these standards, participants can maintain and enhance the level of openness and accountability necessary to maintain trust in the ESOSH.

Scope of the Code of Conduct— applies to all participants regarding aspects of their professional activities in the field of occupational safety and hygiene. The Code may be supplemented by other rules of conduct and organizational discipline, as determined by the Governing Council of the European Society, which do not contradict this Code.

General principles of behavior

In their professional activities, ESOSH participants:

1.

Share the community's vision that life is the highest value and do everything possible to prevent any harm to human life and health;

2.

Fulfill the mission — form a safe mindset and spread leadership on occupational safety;

3.

Strive for the goal — develop their own professional competence and become a source of development for others;

4.

Achieve goals:

Self-assessment and safety audit.

Identification of problems and ways to solve them.

Development of a roadmap to zero injuries.

In the performance of their professional duties, the members of the ESOSH shall:

1.

Perform labor protection duties responsibly, conscientiously and honestly.

2.

When making decisions in their professional activities, they are guided primarily by the interests of society and act in order to preserve the life and health of people.

3.

Guided by the principles of transparent reporting on injuries and occupational diseases in the workplace, without in any way concealing the real causes of incidents, but doing everything that depends on them to investigate objectively and impartially and prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.

4.

Act in such a way that their activities strengthen the reputation of the ESOSH, comply with the provisions and rules of the organization approved by the ESOSH Governing Board.

5.

Promote and support the basic principles and principles of the European Society:

Honesty.

Access to advanced knowledge in occupational safety.

Continuous improvement.

By taking a leading role and serving as an example, the members of the ESOSH undertake to adhere to the following rules of conduct:

1.

Respect the values of the ESOSH, pan-European values and do not take any action that could damage the reputation and authority of the ESOSH or its participants.

2.

Avoid conflicts between any actual or potential economic, commercial, financial and other interests on a professional and personal level on the one hand and the public interest in the work of the ESOSH on the other, by resolving any conflicts in favour of the public interest; if an ESOSH participant is unable to avoid a conflict of interest, such a conflict of interest shall the conflict must be made public to the Board of the European Society.

3.

Do not use their participation in the ESOSH to promote their own interests or those of another person or structure through actions incompatible with the Code of Conduct.

4.

Do not use for personal purposes confidential information to which they have gained access through membership in the ESOSH.

5.

The members of the ESOSH shall act in accordance with the Code of Conduct on preventing and combating corruption. In this regard, the ESOSH adheres to the highest ethical standards, as well as not only the letter, but also the spirit of all current and applicable anti-corruption regulations in force in the countries where the ESOSH members operate.

6.

All participants, employees and representatives of the ESOSH, and third parties acting on behalf of the Community are prohibited from committing or inciting anyone to commit acts prohibited by the Anti-Corruption Law.

7.

All of the above persons must ensure that all agreements with third parties, both in the private and public sectors, are concluded in accordance with the acts of the applicable law of the country in which the activity is carried out, as well as the standards of good faith and decency.

8.

The ESOSH values the good faith and transparency of all transactions, opposes and does not recognize any acts of corruption, regardless of who they are committed.

9.

Members of the ESOSH shall not allow corruption offences — acts that contain signs of corruption:

The use by the subject of responsibility for corruption offenses of official powers or related opportunities granted to him in order to obtain an unlawful profit.

Acceptance of participation in actions committed by the subject of responsibility for corruption offenses, for which criminal, disciplinary and/or civil liability is established by law.

All members of the ESOSH, when taking part in Community activities and referring to their participation in the Community, undertake the following obligations:

1.

Any threats or suspicions of possible corruption offences or the facts of their occurrence which have become known to the ESOSH Member and relate directly to his or her professional activities or those of the Community as a whole shall be notified by the Member of the ESOSH.

2.

To show respect for the values of the European Society;

3.

Demonstrate openness and transparency of their activities.

4.

Maintain neutrality, impartiality and objectivity.

5.

Obligation to act in the current regulatory and legal field of the country where the activities of the ESOSH are carried out.

6.

Commitment to maintain order and rules of decency, ensuring civilized and orderly relations, in accordance with the rules and according to established business practices.

7.

Obligation to behave politely, politely and respectfully towards each other, to refrain from any actions that may disrupt the course of organized events.

8.

Obligation to refrain from any discrimination on gender, social, linguistic, ethnic and other grounds that denies or reduces the equal exercise of the rights of Members of the ESOSH and others.

9.

All participants shall make a statement to the Executive Board of the ESOSH if they have professional, personal or economic interests which are contrary to the activities of the Community.

Compliance with the code of conduct

In carrying out their professional activities, the members of the ESOSH undertake to comply with the principles and rules set out in the Code of Conduct.

Where there are grounds to believe that a participant has acted in breach of the Code of Conduct, the ESOSH Board has the right to request clarifications or additional information from that Member of the European Society or other members of the Community which may clarify the situation.

If the Governing Board of the ESOSH decides that the participant has violated the Code of Conduct, the Board shall decide to exclude him from the members of the Community within the limits of its powers and in accordance with the applicable legal framework of the country in which the ESOSH operates.
